The Jesus Cristo Holey Breakfast!

Today I am going to school you guys on a quick and delicious breakfast sandwich that will have you asking, “Who the Hell is Monte anyways?” The Jesus (Hay-Soos) Cristo sandwich was created out of my love for the Monte Cristo and breakfast foods so I decided to make my own “breakfast Monte Cristo.”

A Monte Cristo sandwich is a quick and easy sandwich made with ham and turkey, then dipped in an egg and milk batter and fried to perfection. My version of the sandwich uses bacon and sausage instead of ham and turkey and includes a special breakfast surprise in the middle! The “Hole in the Middle” is my secret weapon and can be a meal on its own when on a serious budget or time crunch. Simply put though, the “Hole in the Middle” is a piece of toast with a hole cut out so that a fried egg can fit snugly inside of the middle of it.

WARNING!! Eating this sandwich may lead to increased faith and the ability to walk on water.

Ingredients: 3 slices of bread, 3 (or more) slices of bacon, 4 sausage links, 3 eggs, 1/4 cup of milk, 1 slice of cheddar cheese.

Step 1. Start frying up your bacon and sausage in a pan on low heat.

Step 2. While the bacon and sausage are cooking, take 1 slice of bread. By using a small to medium glass cup, cut a hole in the center of the bread. On the side, beat 2 eggs and 1/4 cup of milk in a medium sized bowl.

Step 3. Once the bacon and sausage are cooked, remove from the pan and set aside. Using the same pan (the bacon grease is great to prevent the eggs and bread from sticking) place the piece of bread with the hole in it inside the pan. Immediately crack an egg into the hole and let it cook. Flip when needed and season with salt and pepper as desired.

Step 4. When the Hole in the middle is done, assemble the sandwich by placing the bacon on one slice of bread, then the Hole in the Middle, then the sausage links on top, then the cheddar cheese and the final slice of bread.

Step 5. Lightly dip the entire sandwich in the milk and egg batter so that the sandwich is lightly coated all around. Now place the dipped sandwich in the pan and fry up both sides evenly till they are a beautiful golden brown.

Step 6. Place in the microwave for 45 seconds to ensure all the batter and egg is cooked thoroughly then Enjoy!

Another great way to enjoy the  sandwich is by dipping it in your favorite type of jelly or syrup to make it the breakfast sandwich of all breakfast sandwiches! Be sure to check out my other photos for help on making your own Jesus Cristoooo!!
